Introducing E.On Next The 100% Renewable Energy Supplier

At F Smith & Son, we’re proud to bring the personal touch to your move. That includes getting to know your needs before we help you move. We find that while all of our clients have slightly different priorities, everyone is looking for ways to save money on the cost of moving to a new home. But some of the ways you can save money when you move may not be as obvious as others.

For instance, did you know that you could (and almost certainly will) be paying over the odds for your energy when you move into a new home? New movers are automatically placed on a “deemed contract” with the previous occupant’s supplier, which could prove very expensive.

Switching to a new energy supplier as close to your moving day as possible can give you months or even years of sustained savings. And when you choose a 100% renewable supplier like E.On Next, you can save money while helping to save the planet.

What is E.On Next?

E.On is an energy supplier that needs no introduction for most. It is one of the biggest energy suppliers in the UK, second only to British Gas. But as the energy experts at Switch-Plan will tell you, the energy giant just released a glossy new brand with some impressive new tariffs. E.On Next may well be one to watch if you’re both eco-conscious and budget-conscious.

E.On Next is the result of a 2019 merger between two titans, E.On and N Power. Starting in 2020 and throughout 2021, E.On has begun moving NPower customers to its shiny and sustainable new brand E.On Next.

Why is it important to choose a renewable energy supplier?

You want to save money on energy in your new home. But you don’t want your savings to come at the expense of the planet. Burning fossil fuels to generate energy is a major contributor to climate change. Even natural gas, which made up a substantial portion of N Power’s energy fuel mix before the merger, contributes to our national carbon footprint even though it burns more cleanly than coal or oil.

E.On Next’s energy comes from completely renewable sources like wind, solar and biomass.

What is E.On Next’s best tariff?

That depends on what you’re looking for in an energy tariff for your new home. Let’s take a look at some of the plans on offer so you can decide which would be the best one for you.

E.On Next online

This is the brand’s best-selling fixed-term contract with 100% renewable electricity. It lasts for 12 months and unlike many other fixed-term deals on the market, you’re not charged an early exit fee if you switch to a new supplier during your contract.

If you’re happy to manage your account online, you can make significant savings with this plan.

E.ON Next Climate+

An extra eco-friendly tariff, this also offers 100% renewable electricity and carbon-offset gas. As an added bonus, E.On will plant 5 trees a year for every year you stay on this tariff.

E.ON Next 2 years

This is a good option for those who want to keep their energy costs locked in for longer. So you can rest assured that rises in wholesale energy costs won’t affect how much you pay.

E.ON Next Drive

This is a tariff exclusively for customers with electric vehicles. Charging your car will cost only 4p per kWh between midnight and 4am. You’ll also get you’ll get a bonus of 850 miles (around £30) when you sign up.

Signing up to a new energy plan when you move house can result in significant savings. So make sure you sign up to a new plan as close to your moving day as possible.
